The Method Of Cultivating Socialist Core Values Of Local University Students

Reports on 18 th National People's Congress clarified that we should cultivate and practice socialist core values in an active way,which brought forward new requirements for ideological and political education in colleges and universities.Opinions on Cultivating and Practicing the Socialist Core Values issued by the General Office of the CPC Central Committee on December 2013 proposed that cultivating and practicing socialist core values should be added to the whole process of national education and effective channels should be developed for teenagers to cultivate and practice the socialist core values.[1]This means it is not only a matter of ideological education to cultivate socialist core values in college students but also a matter of how to innovate educational method under new circumstances.In May Fourth Youth Day 2014,General Secretary Xi Jinping put forward in his speech Youth to Consciously Practice Socialist Core Values at Peking University on Teachers and Students Forum that the youth were the era symbol of the most sensitive barometer and that both the responsibility and the glory of the times belong to the youth.The value orientation of the youth determines the value orientation of the whole society.The youth are now in the period to form and establish their value orientation and it is of crucial significance to do a good job in this particular period.[2]Therefore,it is of great strategic significance to attach importance to and strengthen the cultivation and practice of socialist core values of young college students.The current college student groups have a tendency to shift towards “00”generation.The rapid changes and reform of social environment shape the uniqueness of both their physical and mental development,leading to the complexity of value judgment and recognition.Under new circumstances,how to innovate educational methods to make socialist core values root in students' mind and guide their conducts should be the major and arduous mission for colleges and universities to cultivate and practice the socialist core values of college students.Therefore,this paper studies the cultivation of socialist core values of college students based on the methods and aims to explore the source of the problem from practice and further promote the theoretical construction of the socialist core values in the cultivation of college students through problem-guided analysis.Undoubtedly,this is of great practical value to improve the pertinence and effectiveness of ideological and political education for college students.This paper chose local college students as the research perspective,the method to cultivate socialist core values as the research object and the combination of theory and practice as the research idea.In this paper,it analyzed the significance,current studies,reflection on difficulties and measures of cultivating college students' socialist core values from many perspectives,including theoretical interpretation of cultivating college students' socialist core values,empirical analysis of current cultivation,reflection on the cultivation difficulty and the rational choice of cultivation coordination and optimization and other perspectives.It is hoped in this paper that the pertinence and effectiveness of cultivation method for socialist core values can further be promoted.
