| Mind map is a visual tool, combined with key words, pictures and colors to help attract students’ attention and cultivate students’ divergent thinking. With the continuous development of the new curriculum reform, we are more and more aware of the dominant position of students in teaching to improve the teaching effect of English reading, we should enrich the teaching methods. In this paper, the application of mind map in English reading teaching in junior middle school,guide students to use mind map for reading,and find an effective way to improve the quality and effectiveness of English reading teaching in junior middle school.This paper will use mind map to teach English Reading, trying to encourage students to develop deep understanding and to explore two aspects of the problem:First, whether the mind map used in teaching helps to enhance students’ interest in reading English Reading; Second, whether mind map will help deepen students’understanding of reading materials for English reading. Specifically, the ideas of this study are as the following: explore the theoretical basis of mind map, using questionnaires, interviews and testing methods to collect data. In order to analyze the current situation of students’ English reading and prove the effect of the application ofmind map in the teaching of English reading in junior high schools, the writer do theresearch on the basis of experimental research, classroom cases and interviews. The writer selects two parallel classes as the experimental class and the control class, the experimental class adopted the mind map teaching method, while teaching method used in the control class is in the traditional teaching way, different analysis of the data is collected by the end of the experiment.The results show that: The mind map tools in English reading teaching is very effective,by contrast, the English reading performance of the students in theexperimental class was improved significantly. Although the reading achievement of the students in the control class was improved, the effect was not obvious in the experimental class .In addition, the help of mind map teaching is helpful to stimulate students’ interest in English reading, enhance students’ understanding of reading materials and improve their ability of reading materials. |
