Academ ic achievement is one of the main respects to reflect the learning level of the students,and it is also an im portant factor that whether the students can enter a higher school or not.Surveying what factors result in the phenomenon that the learning level of junior school students is dif ferent in yanan between urban and rural areas,founding out the measures to solve the problem,which is very vita l for the rural junior schoo l to improve the quality of education and accelerate the development of fair education.This investigation takes 8 junior schools th at in Yanan of Shanxi province as the objects that come from city,district,count y and town.T wo typical junior schools are chosen respectively that the quality of education is different.The method of combing qualitative research and quantitative research is adopted.The situation that the academic achievement of the students between urban and rural areas are different is represented by giving away the questionnaire,having the talk with the teachers,and drawing a diagra m or icon.From the investigation we can see,what the academic achievement of junior school students are different is influenced by four factors,including society,school,family and individual student.F irst of all,social environment,compared with rural are a,the entertainment atmosphere and Inf ormation dissemination channels in urban areas is superior,which has a great im pact on the students of their academ ic achievement.The students get high achievement in the areas that have wonderful entertainment atmosphere and convenient inform ation disseminationchannel.Secondly,school environm ent,the school environment is different in m any aspects between urban areas and rural areas,such as the teaching equipm ent,learning atmo sphere,and instructor staff.The junior school in urban areas that have advanced equipment and enriched school life,it is helpful for the students to get high achievem ent.Besides,the more knowledge that the teachers have,the quality of education in the school would be better.The more chance for teachers to receive training,the instructor st aff would be more outstand ing.Thirdly,the family environment is also different in many aspects due to the background of the family,such as,the degree of education that the parents received,the occupation that the parents occupied,the expectation that the parents hol d to the ir children,th e situation that the parents communicate with school,the level that the parents could help their children in doing homework,and the learning condition that the parent s could provide for their children.Generally speaking,the occupation that the parents occupied could explain the academic achievement differences,the children would get high achievement if the degree of education that pare nts received and the ex pectation that the p arents hold to their children were high,too.The more parents contact with school,the more progress that the students will make.In addition,learning is effected by the learning and living condition as well.From the students' own factors,urban students have higher se lf expectation than rural students,it's an effective driving force for students to make progress in their studies.According to the investigation,the f actors are analyzed above that influencing the academic achievement of junior school stud ents in urb an and rural areas,so some measures are put forward.Such as,creati ng a healthy environm ent around the school,resisting form bad habits,broadening the information dissemination channels,optimizing the resources,updating the equipment,aba ndoning the school life,strengthening the instructor staff,improving the condition of family education,paying more attention to educate the parents of the students,im proving the consum ption of education,strengthening the cooperation between parent s and school,and enc ouraging the parents to join in the learning process of children,to create suitable atmosphere for the children study,Encourage students to improve their self-education expectations.
