Research On The Evolution Of China's Human Development Index And Its Influencing Factors

For three decades,China's economic growth has made remarkable achievements,however,the level of human development is synchronized? In order to reveal China's annual human development level,Based on the connotation and algorithm of HDI proposed by the UNDP,this essay constructed a three-dimension HDI,including health,education and GNI per capita.1996-2014 years of China's human development index,found that China has not only made great achievements in the economy,but also the level of human development is also increasing year by year.China has the low level of human development from 1996 to the current high level of human development,human development achievements.Viewing from the sub-indices of HDI,it can be inferred that the health index is the highest,but it has the smallest increase.The income index is the lowest,but it has the largest increase,and contributes most in improving HDI.This paper measures the Human Development Index and the gap of human development status among the different provinces and cities in our country.Result shows that a higher GDP does not mean a higher HDI at the provincial level.However,the HDI of provinces and cities in which health,education and living standards have a balanced development performs high.Based on the variance variation of the indexes of health,education and income among different provinces and cities during 14 years from 2000 to 2014,it finds that the index of education has a greatest variance all the time,the index of income takes second place and the index of health has a least one in China.It shows that the gap of education development level is the main reason which cause the differences of HDI among provinces and cities.Thanks to the gap of life expectancy of population narrows gradually and the gap of the index of health is significantly smaller than the gap of HDI,the HDI varied is not caused by the index of health.However,the gap of education levels doesn't narrow,it means that the gap of the index of education has a great effect on HDI.What's more,the variance of the index of income has a downward trend and it indicates that the gap of the income levels has a trend to decrease among the different provinces and cities.In addition,narrowing the gap of the index of income is a significant measure to narrow the gap of the HDI in different provinces and cities.In this paper,based on estimates of the human development index,I have studied The impact of government education,medical expenditure,the gap between the rich and the poor,and the changes of the economic system on the human development in China.The empirical results show that government expenditure on education finance contribution to the human development index is greater than the government finances health care spending,the gap between the rich and the poor in China has played an active role in the level of human development in our country.In addition,China's economy institution change to enhance the level of human development.
