High school English vocabulary teaching is the difficult point of high school English teaching.Vocabulary could carry with a great deal of knowledge and information and it will develop students' abilities of learning foreign language.Grammar,sentence,article analysis,writing are all based on lexical learning.Also,it could influence the English thinking habits or expressions indirectly.In fact,the new curriculum emphasis the communicative skills of using English vocabulary in daily life.Senior high school students are required to grasp 3500-4200 words and 300-500 idioms or phrases and to use them well.New form of CEE is coming,English test has been reformed deeply,it emphasis on vocabulary using level as an international communication instrumental.Therefore,to discover newly English vocabulary teaching and learning strategies are necessary.Traditional things need to be reformed into improving the lexical input.The language attrition theory starts late in China around the early 1980 s,but,it has drawn lots of linguistics and teachers' attentions.From the perspective of linguistic,language attrition and language acquisition are bond together.It's rarely to involve the lexical attrition theory with basic level education and it's more common to focus on lexical teaching approaches or lexical learning methods.The goal of this study is to research and analyze the frequent things like words memory strategies,lexical teaching effect,vocabulary learning strategies or vocabulary maintaining effect.Based on the newest results of language attrition theory,the condition to cause attrition is stop using the target language for a long time or never using it at all.Lexical attrition will result in losing the skills of using vocabulary precisely and the language ability and loss of words or expressions.Two classes in this study,all of the students are from the same senior high school in the same city and have the same quality of education,although they will have different English teaching approaches,they have the same learning condition.There are many stages of language attrition,in this study,the author choose to do this experiment in the famous high school in local,two class,Control Group VS.Experimental Group,three tests are preparing for them.Through the different guidance of lexical teaching and learning strategies under the direction of language attrition for three months.On the basis of collecting and analyzing the data,EG shows much more improvements than CG,and the learning attitude towards English learning became more higher than before,the teaching atmosphere in EG is also changing harmoniously.EG got remarkably higher scores than that of CG in the post-test,the results illustrate that lexical teaching strategies based on the language attrition theory help to reinforce the ability of students' lexical learning.In addition,their learning motivation and learning potential have been carried out.
