The Role Of Traditional Chinese Culture In The Ideological And Political Education In Colleges

Traditional Chinese culture passing on for thousands of years is precious spiritual food for our Chinese people and the important embodiment of national spirit.It promotes the process of the Chinese nation's modernization and accelerates the great revival of Chinese Dream by integrating the strategic resources.Traditional Chinese culture is not only the necessary condition to form the socialist core values,but also the foundation that our nation stands out in the world.College students today promote the civilization construction of the socialist spirit.They are closely linked with the honor and disgrace of Chinese nation.They sustain great responsibilities of realizing the great revival,so in addition to building healthy bodies,they also should possess excellent professional skills,correct value orientation of life,good personal moral accomplishment and spread the fine traditions of the China Dream.Nowadays,influenced by complicated social reasons and the erosion of all sorts of media culture,there are contrastive performance of college students' ideological and moral quality: some college students are confused in the ideological and moral concepts.Traditional Chinese cultural thinking is absent in the social values of college students and there is a lack of traditional cultural thoughts system in their ideological and political education system.Ideological and political educators in this field have made some achievements after years of research and actively promoted the development of college ideological and political education and the progress of social economy.Even so,there are still many problems to be solved in the process of ideological and political education in colleges.Starting with the introduction of traditional Chinese culture and ideological and political education background,the paper analyzes the existing problems with the integrated traditional culture-based ideological and political education model in colleges and then offered some suggestions,striving to help improve the moral and ideological standards of college students.This thesis is divided into four parts.The first part introduces the connotation and characteristics of the traditional culture and the ideological and political education in colleges respectively.With reference to the research status at home and abroad,this paper expounds the close relation between the two and paves the way for the following research.The second part focuses on the employment of Chinese traditional culture in college students` ideological and political education,such as political education curriculum,college students' value orientation,the development of campus culture construction etc.The essence of traditional culture promotes the development of college students' ideological and political education.It cultivates the college students' patriotism and national spirit,improves college students' values and moral standards,and cultivates ideal personality.It also helps establish a harmonious interpersonal relationship.But there are also some problems,including insufficient attention on the ideological and political education,poor teaching effect and lack of diversity and creation in the education process.The third part discusses the problems of applying Chinese traditional culture to the ideological and political education of college students and the causes of the problems.The biggest problems in the ideological and political education in college students are superficial understanding of traditional culture,loss of faith,distorted values,lack of social responsibility,weak social morality consciousness,low recognition of the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation and single channel of learning traditional Chinese culture.The reason may be the cultural psychological trauma caused by the Chinese history,the impact of multi culture,the neglect of higher education and the drawbacks of the ideological and political education curriculum.The forth part suggests on how to use Chinese traditional culture to carry on the college students' ideological and political education.It is proposed that more efforts need to be done to make full use of traditional Chinese culture in the ideological and political education,to realize a diverse development of traditional culture education on campus,to build a cyber platform for ideological education integrated with traditional Chinese culture,to strengthen teacher education about traditional culture,enrich the curriculum so as to solve the current problems concerning ideological and political education of college students.
