The teacher-student relationship has been one of the focuses of education research.It is a special interpersonal relationship,which is established by mutual cognition,emotion and communication between students and teachers in the process of education and instruction because of their respective status,role and criterion behavior.The teacher-student relationship is the most basic and important school interpersonal relationship.It plays a significant role in promoting students' physical and mental development as well as obtaining good educational effects.For a long time,although the studies on the teacher-student relationship are rich in China,these studies mainly focused on the connotation,the types and the influencing factors of the teacher-student relationship as well as the influence of the teacher-student relationship on the academic achievement,school adjustment and personality of students who are from primary and secondary schools.There is no study on the teacher-student relationship of the hearing-impaired college students.In our country,the hearing-impaired college students are a large group.Because of the hearing impairment,the hearing-impaired college students are prone to mental problems such as inferiority and unhealthy emotions.Therefore,the self-confidence problems of the hearing-impaired college students are worth our concern.The studies on influencing factors of individual self-confidence in our country mainly discuss the internal factors that affect individual self-confidence,while the studies on external factors are relatively few.Even if someone has explored the external factors that affect individual self-confidence,those studies are mainly focused on influence of parenting style and peer relationship on the individual self-confidence.No one has studied the relationship between the hearing-impaired college students' teacher-student relationship and their self-confidence.Therefore,the hearing-impaired college students are selected as the research object in the study.The self-made questionnaires are adopted in the research.The questionnaire survey method and case interview method are used to study problems of the relationship between the hearing-impaired college students' teacher-student relationship and their self-confidence.Through the study we can find its characteristics and existing problems.Based on the study,some education countermeasures are put forward by the researcher.The study can enrich the study on the teacher-student relationship and the handicapped college students in our country.The study will help the hearing-impaired college students to establish a good teacher-student relationship and to promote their self-confidence development as well as to improve their psychological health level.The study results are as follows:(1)The hearing-impaired college students' teacher-student relationship questionnaire and the hearing-impaired college students' self-confidence questionnaire made by myself are reliable and valid.They meet the requirements of educational measurement,which can be used as measuring tools in the study.(2)The hearing-impaired college students' teacher-student relationship are classified into five dimensions,they scored from high to low in turn: the harmonious type > the compromised type> the close type > the cold type> the antipathetic type.In general,the hearing-impaired college students have a harmonious teacher-student relationship.(3)As for the close and harmonious teacher-student relationship,Female hearing-impaired college students scored significantly higher than male college students with hearing loss;The deaf college students with some hearing scored significantly higher than those who are totally deaf;The liberal arts hearing-impaired college students scored significantly higher than the science hearing-impaired college students;The hearing-impaired college students from town scored significantly higher than those from the rural areas;The hearing-impaired college students who are student cadre scored significantly higher than the ordinary hearing-impaired college students;Sophomore,junior,senior hearing-impaired college students scored higher than freshman hearing-impaired college students;Hearing-impaired college students who have excellent and good academic performance scored significantly higher than those who have average and poor academic performance.(4)As for the Compromised,cold and antipathetic teacher-student relationship,Male hearing-impaired college students scored significantly higher than female college students with hearing loss;The hearing-impaired college students who are totally deaf scored significantly higher than those with some hearing;The science hearing-impaired college students scored significantly higher than the liberal arts hearing-impaired college students;The hearing-impaired college students from the rural areas scored significantly higher than those from town;The ordinary hearing-impaired college students scored significantly higher than those who are student cadre;The freshman hearing-impaired college students scored higher than sophomore,junior,senior hearing-impaired college students;The hearing-impaired college students who have average and poor academic performance scored significantly higher than those who have excellent and good academic performance.(5)The hearing-impaired college students' self-confidence includes five dimensions,they scored from high to low in turn: body self-confidence > interpersonal self-confidence > ability self-confidence > achievement self-confidence > response self-confidence.(6)As for self-confidence total score and five dimensions,the hearing-impaired college students with some hearing scored significantly higher than those who are totally deaf;The hearing-impaired college students from town scored significantly higher than those from the rural areas;The hearing-impaired college students who are student cadre scored significantly higher than ordinary hearing-impaired college students;Sophomore,junior hearing-impaired college students scored significantly higher than senior and freshman hearing-impaired college students,the freshman hearing-impaired college students scored lowest;The hearing-impaired college students who have excellent and good academic performance scored significantly higher than those who have average and poor academic performance.(7)As for the interpersonal self-confidence,female hearing-impaired college students scored significantly higher than male hearing-impaired college students;The liberal arts hearing-impaired college students scored significantly higher than the science hearing-impaired college students.As for self-confidence total score and the achievement self-confidence,the liberal arts hearing-impaired college students scored significantly higher than the science hearing-impaired college students.(8)The harmonious and close teacher-student relationships are significantly positively related to hearing-impaired college students' self-confidence.The compromised,cold and antipathetic teacher-student relationships are significantly negatively related to hearing-impaired college students' self-confidence.(9)The Close,harmonious,compromised,cold and antipathetic type teacher-student relationships can together explain the variation of 58.1% of the hearing-impaired college students' self-confidence.The close and harmonious teacher-student relationship have a positive effect on the hearing-impaired college students' confidence,while the other three kinds of teacher-student relationship have a negative impact on the hearing-impaired college students' confidence.(10)According to the study results,we put forward the following education countermeasures: First,the special education teachers should care more about the hearing-impaired college students and communicate more with them to initiatively establish good relationship with them.Second,special education teachers should strengthen the psychological health education to improve hearing-impaired college students' self-confidence.Third,the special education teachers should pay more attention to hearing-impaired college students' aptitude to promote their comprehensive development.
