It has always been a shared concern on the factors that affecting corporate performance among the stakeholders of the corporate and the scholars.As is known to all,there are multiple factors that affecting corporate performance,both internal ones and external ones.Being an important part of the human resource in the corporate,female executives have always attracted lots of attention.And the groves of western academe have been studying on the influence of top management team on the corporate performance once the upper echelons theory has been formed.For current being,our research on this area is still on its initial phase,especially on the retail industry,thus this paper would try to do some research on retailing.First of all,this paper has selected 61 listed companies in the retailing industry as sample companies,with the time span of 2010 to 2014,and total 305 observation data,to carry out the empirical study.By using leadership style theory,agency theory,human capital theory and social capital theory,this paper tries to illustrate the character of female executives among top management team.Then,an empirical research is conducted,with the result of which showing that the age of female executive has little influence on the performance of the corporate.Yet the diploma level of female executive has a positive relationship with the performance of the corporate,and it is the same when it comes to the wealth level of the female executive and the proportion of the female executive on the top management team.In the end,based on the result of theoretical analysis and the empirical analysis,relevant suggestions would be given from the perspective of the government and the perspective of the corporate.
