Advanced Placement is one of the earliest and most successful programs which offer college-level curricula and examinations to high school students in the whole world.With significant advantages and great achievements Advanced Placement has expanded its influence rapidly and been through the transition from American AP into global AP since the beginning more than half a century ago.The number of Chinese high school students studying in America has been increasing year by year as China being the biggest source of international students for years,and AP Courses have been into China and adapted by Chinese high schools along with the unfolding of Chinese domestic education.It's already a problem for Chinese educators how to deal with the challenges of AP courses.In order to change the rigid status of basic education Chinese education authorities carried out a variety of useful attempts and experiments in which many precious experiences are gained and a lot of structural problems and difficulties are also found in recent years.Therefore,it is very important to analyze and study the American AP program in depth to promote the development of domestic local "pre-university course".AP European History program is analyzed as a research sample in this paper,and the full text is divided into four parts,namely,the Introduction,AP European History course,AP European History Exam,and AP European History Program reform and reference.The first chapter introduces the origin,purpose and significance of this study,reviews the research status of related fields,and introduces the research methods and innovations of this paper.Chapter 2 summarizes the development of AP Program and characters of AP European History Course,highlights "Historical Thinking Skills,and gives a detailed analysis of various teaching materials adapted by AP European History Course.The third chapter,AP European History Exam,briefly describes the profile of AP examinations,analyzes the content and form of AP European History Exam,and dissects different types of questions in the latest previous exam.The fourth chapter not only introduces the latest trends of AP European History Program,but also explores the problems faced by the local "pre-university course" and the revelation and reference that AP Program brings to us.
