English writing is an important part of English learning,which can reflect the learners' comprehensive ability of using English.According to the requirements of the New English Curricu lum Standard,teachers should consider English writing as a system of language kno wledge and language skill.For senior high school students,English writing is not only helpful to e xpanding their language knowledge,but also good for constructing their personal meaning.But regrettably,the majority of Chinese senior high school stu dents focus on English writing for achieving high m ark in English examinations.If English writing is no longer used to record or express students' thoughts and feelings,they won' t experience a blending writing process of psychology and e motion.It will in evitably make students lose interest in Englis h writing little by little and finally bring a negative impact on the development of their writing ability.As a new foreign language teaching wa y,experiential teaching has been put forward with the reform of foreign language teaching in recent years.It requires the teacher to create learning environment to make students actively participate in writing class and let them fully experience the joy of the writing process.In this way,students can acquire language kn owledge unconsciously,accordingly construct their personal meaning and promote the development of their English writing ability.Therefore,this study attempts to apply experiential teachi ng in English w riting teaching of senior high school and explore whethe r it can enhance students' interest in English writing and improve their English writing level or not.The research subjects are 108 students from two classes of senior one of TongrenNo.1 Middle S chool in Guizhou Provin ce.One class is the experim ental group and the other is the controlled group.The study firstly investigates the current situation of English writing of senior hi gh school students through questionnaire and then clarify the problems that need to be solved in English writing teaching of senior high school.Secondly,it explores the applic ation effect of expe riential teaching in English writing teaching of senior high school by means of tests and interviews.Later,SPSS20 is used to collect and analyze th e experimental data,and finally the experimental results are obtained through discussion.The experimental results suggest that th e application of expe riential teaching in English writing teaching has a significant effect on the students in the experimental group.Compared with the students in the controlled group,they hold more active attitude towards English writing.Also,they are more interested in English writing and their writing level is h igher.These results prove that the experiential teach ing is helpful to English writing teaching of senior high school.
