English writing is the expression and presentation of students' emotion and thoughts,and it is also one of the important means of language output and communication.It is a language item that must be examined during the school year.Because the teaching mode is relatively simple and backward and learners,English input is insufficient,the English writing teaching effectiveness in ordinary junior high schools is not satisfactory.Therefore,how to carry out effective English writing teaching in junior high schools has become an urgent problem for teachers to explore.The experiential English writing teaching which lays stress on situational creation,experience comprehension,reflection and practice is one of the directions of English writing teaching research.Based on Kolb'Experiential Learning Circle,this study proposes the teaching model of English writing in ordinary junior middle schools.This study selects part of the students of Grade Seven in a local ordinary junior high school(an urban-rural school)as experimental subjects and sets up the experimental group and control group to carry on the classroom experiment with the Project English Textbooks of Grade Seven as the teaching materials.This study explores the influences of experiential English writing teaching mode based on Kolb's Experiential Learning Circle in ordinary junior high schools on students' English writing enthusiasm,writing ability,English thinking ability and English achievement by using the methods of pretest,posttest,questionnaire survey methods and interviews.The research finds that under the influence of the experienced English writing teaching for a period of one academic year,the experimental group's and control group's after-test scores have significant differences in English writing and the average growth of English writing after-test scores in the experimental group is greater than that in the control group.At the same time,the after-test average English grade of the experimental group is higher than that of the control group.In view of this,the English writing teaching model based on Kolb's experiential learning circle in ordinary junior high schools can further improve students' English writing ability and English grade.Based on the results analysis of students' questionnaires and individual interviews to the teachers and students,this research finds that the writing teaching model based on Kolb's Experiential Learning Circle can more effectively stimulate students' writing enthusiasm,help students to experience the pleasure of learning English and the sense of achievement and train students' ability of thinking in English.This study which applies Kolb's Experiential Learning Circle Theory to English writing teaching in the ordinary junior high school(an urban-rural school)constructs the writing teaching modes and provides ideas for English teachers in ordinary junior middle schools when they design effective teaching modes of experiential English writing and offers evidence and suggestions to those who write experiential English writing textbooks for junior high school learners.
