The Confucian thought of benevolence is the core content of Chinese traditional philanthropic thought.It contains a rich concept of charity.The "benevolence" thought and the modern concept of charity is interlinked.The harmonious society that it pursued is the same as modern concept of charity.Therefore,the pre-Qin Confucian thought laid the theoretical foundation for the modern concept of charity.In addition,the pre-Qin Confucian advocated the "charity mind","filial duty","thoughts of gentleman ","righteousness” and other ideas,which provide college students the moral charitable foundation,leading college students' charity thoughts.College students are the backbone of modern society.The college students' awareness of charity in cognition,motivation,behavior and emotional tendency shows obvious characteristics,which is influenced by the objective cultural,economic and social factors,as well as cultural quality differences,individual value orientation and moral quality level.In this paper,a university in T City is taken as an example.In sample survey from this university,all valid data is analyzed,so as to clarify the status of college students' awareness of charity.Based on the reality of college students' charity awareness,this paper based on the Confucian thought of benevolence,starting from the social cultural construction,school education,family emotional support,individual internalization,in order to cultivate students' charity awareness.Improving students' charity awareness while absorbing the traditional spirit gene,we will cultivate he charity into a conscious and active behavior,improving college students' self-cultivation,enhancing cultural self-confidence.
