The United States K-12 stage STEM teachers professional development is under the situation of the emergence of the world competition with the trend of social development.The United States augment the STEM teachers and cultivate STEM talents,in order to deal with the current and future economic difficulties,technological innovation bottlenecks and global competition problems,so that consolidate their dominance.American education has always been the advanced model of world education,it is the object of research,this paper mainly study the developments of American STEM education and the reasons,structures and the evolutionary situation of the United States K-12 STEM teacher professional development.And clarify the systematic formation of United States K-12 stage STEM teachers professional developments.It's good for us to analyze the successful experience and shortcomings of United States STEM teachers professional developments and reject the bad part and adopt the good,so as to provide reference for our basic education stage STEM Teachers professional developments.Paper is divided into the following several parts:This paper summarizes the related literatures of STEM teachers in the United States at home and abroad,and defines the relevant concepts of this paper to determine the scope and direction of the research.The first chapter:Clarify the process of the United States STEM teacher professional developments with the perspective of history.First of all,clarify its development process during the embryonic stage of the professional development of STEM teachers in the United States;Secondly,discusses its development which divided into growth period and development period in its development stage,showing spiral upward trend,and showed continued development trend that mature increasingly.The second chapter expounds the reasons of the contemporary American STEM teacher professional development from four aspects that are historical reasons,social reasons,political reasons and the reasons for the times.Indicating that the United States STEM teacher professional development continues to develop because of the different reasons.Chapter 3: This chapter is an important part of the paper.According to the composition of the professional development of teachers in the United States K-12,this chapter expounds the professional accomplishment of the teachers of the K-12 stage in the United States,the training system,the support system and the evaluation system of their professional development.Chapter 4: Studying the current situation of the development of STEM teachers professional development during United States K-12 stage.Research the development of the United States STEM education,all sectors of the K-12 stage of education attention,and the trend of the United States K-12 stage STEM teacher professional development.Chapter 5: In view of the successful experience and shortcomings of the professional development of STEM teachers in the United States K-12 stage,and make reasonable conclusions for this thesis,we can reject the bad part and adopt the good part in the basic education in China STEM teacher professional development.
