With the globalization of China,English learning is becoming more and more important.School education is the main way to learn English and high school education is an important stage of school education.Many high school English teachers find it important but also difficult in the teaching of English reading.First of all,education in high school is mainly reflected in the combination of language and culture.It focuses on students' comprehensive ability.Secondly,reading comprehension takes up the largest part in the college entrance examination.As the teachers in the forestry bureau,they face with more problems and challenges in the teaching of high school English reading.If the researcher's research is successful,it can arouse the attention of the English teachers of Qinghe Forestry Bureau on students' development of cross-cultural awareness in English reading classes.It can also give the teachers some strategic reference to improve the English performance of high schools in Qinghe Forestry Bureau.What's more,it can give other forestry bureau high school English teachers some enlightenment so that more English teachers will have mutual reflection and continuing research.Thus language and culture will truly integrate.The students will become the main body of learning.The reading classes will return to its essence.The forestry bureau students will become students of high cultural literacy,and reading comprehension in the college entrance examination will no longer be a difficult problem.The thesis consists of seven parts.First,the researcher conducts the sample survey and interviews with both students and teachers in Qinghe Forestry Bureau High School.The results show that there are some problems in the English reading comprehension teaching in Qinghe Forestry Bureau High School,and its main manifestation is the lack of penetration the cross-cultural awareness to students.Then the researcher carefully consults the related literature and gives a literature review on the current research at home and abroad.Based on the theory of constructivism and the theory of language and culture,the researcher sets Qinghe Forestry Bureau High School as an example,describes the status of high school English reading teaching,puts forward the corresponding strategies for the problem,and uses her own two classes to have a comparative test.Finally,the researcher explains the significance of the strategies and has the conclusion based on the data analysis.For a long time,the teaching methods of many high school English teachers in forestry bureau have been conservative and single,nearly ignoring the cultivation of students' cultural awareness.Due to the special nature of the management of education in the forestry bureau,few have dared to offer to cultivate high school students' cross-cultural awareness in English reading teaching for many years.The researcher sets Qinghe Forestry Bureau High School as an example,doing research on targeted questions and solves the problem.The researcher wish that the research results will contribute to the teaching of English reading and cultivate the students' English literacy in the Forestry High School.This is also the most important innovation of this thesis.
