Writing assessment and revision have a crucial role in writing teaching as they serve as a gauge of writing teaching effectiveness and help students to be aware of their strengths and weakness in writing in order to make the most of their strengths.However,for a very long time,writing assessment and revision have not gained enough attention.The research on writing teaching in primary schools in China abounds with articles on writing teaching strategies,few articles on writing assessment and revision and the importance of them are found.Nowadays,research on writing assessment and revision in primary schools is still lagging behind.Based on exploring the theories about writing assessment and revision,this article reflects on the importance and necessity of writing assessment and revision in primary schools,introducing scientific educational ideas and up-to-date educational concepts.And a survey was conducted on the basis of the theories.The results of the survey reflect the status quo of writing assessment and revision in primary schools and shows the reasons behind the problems.Based on in-depth study of the theories and a full understanding of the status quo,this articles offers original ideas on the subject,content,methods and system of writing assessment and revision in primary schools.The article contains five chapters.The first chapter is the preface and the second chapter presents theories from areas of curriculum,literature production,pedagogy,psychology and writing on which the article is based.The survey and its analysis of the statistics in the third chapter illustrate the status quo and traces back to the root of the problems.The fourth chapter offers a reflection on the problems based on the theories and survey,and puts forward feasible suggestions.The last chapter is the conclusion and offers my thinking on future research on writing assessment and revision.
