| English cloze test plays an important role in the English tests at senior high school.According to the previous studies,there are a lot of factors affecting the scores of cloze test.These include external factors related to text itself like passage themes and discourse length and internal factors like personality and tolerance of ambiguity.Personality and tolerance of ambiguity both belong to the internal factors of English learner.Those students who have different personalities have different tolerance of ambiguity.But the relations between students’ personality,tolerance of ambiguity and the score of cloze test are not revealed yet.So,this study took those students(class 4 and 7)from foreign language senior high school as the subjects,and explored the relations between students’personality,tolerance of ambiguity and cloze test scores.Specifically,three questions were put forward in this study.(1)Is there any difference in the tolerance of ambiguity between different personalities?(2)Is there any difference in the scores of cloze test between different personalities?(3)What’s the relation between tolerance of ambiguity and cloze test scores?The data were analyzed with an analytical software called SPSS 13.00.The results of the study show that:(1)The personality distribution is uneven.(2)Overall,there is no difference in the tolerance of ambiguity between different personalities.(3)Overall,there is no difference in the scores of cloze test between different personalities.(4)There is a significant positive correlation between tolerance of ambiguity and cloze test scores. |
