A Study And Analysis Of The Offensive And Defensive Ability Of Chinese Men's Basketball Team In The 31th Rio Olympics

The Chinese men's basketball team lost all the five games in the group in the 2016Olympic Games in Rio.Counting in the games in the 2012 London Olympics,the Chinese team did not win a game in the last two Olympic Games,ranking 12^th in the two games.In 2015,the Chinese men's basketball won the first place in the 18^thannual Changsha Asian Championships,which gives people great hope about this team.However,when it confronted the teams in European countries,its weakness revealed itself.In the 2016 Rio Olympics,the Chinese men's basketball team lost by 29.6 points.The Chinese team is weak in scoring and defensing and this harsh reality makes us think about the reality and reflect on it.This paper focuses on the Chinese men's basketball team and the five teams showed the offensive and defensive capabilities that compete with it in the 31th Rio Olympics.By reading literature,watching video,analyzing the statistics,comparative analysis and other research methods,this paper aims to compare the physical situation,offensive and defensive ability between Chinese basketball players and foreign basketball players.What's more,this paper tries to explore the problems in the Chinese team's defensive and offensive ability and the ways to solve the problem,so that providing a theoretical reference for the betterment of the team.The Study draws the following conclusions:1.The players in Chinese men's basketball team are mostly tall and thin,and the Quetelet index is not so good as those in European teams.Compared to other five groups,the Chinese team has the advantage of the height,but it is weak in the defensive ability.2.The Chinese men's basketball team is weak in its offensive ability,The team's overall scoring ability is weak.The team fast-break points and 2nd attack score is inferior to other teams.3.The overall offense of the team relied too much on the core player,and other players contributed a little to the team.The offense of the Chinese men's basketball team relied mostly on Yi's performance.Also,the team's offensive tactics is relatively simple.4.The Chinese team's shooting ability is weak.Compared with other teams,the Chinese team is the last but one in its hit rate of two-point shot and three-point shot,and the last in its hit rate of free throw.5.When it comes to turnovers,the Chinese men's basketball team has a clear difference to America's and Australia's,with the largest number of turnovers.6.The Chinese men's basketball team shows no clear difference in steals,blocks with the European teams,but it is obviously weaker than the European teams in defensive rebound.
