Assistive technologies are technologies used to strengthen,maintain or improve for the functions of people with disabilities.For special education students,the use of assistive technologies helps them to successfully complete their studies.In developed countries,assistive technology has been widely used in the education of special children.In China,some primary and secondary schools have realized the importance of assistive technologies and started to use assistive technologies.However,how to carry out the work of assisted technology can effectively help students complete their studies.At present,there is no accepted and appropriate mode of implementation.In most of the resource classrooms surveyed by the author,the schools were not used because of the ways in which schools did not know how to use them,and the assistive technology devices distributed by Disability Federation are idle.For this reason,the author hopes to use the Internet to investigate the real situation of U.S.primary and secondary schools using assistive technology to understand how U.S.primary and secondary school assistive technology work is carried out and how the device works for students to complete learning.The author has carried out the following three aspects of research:1.Through the Internet,about 50 assistive technology websites for primary and secondary schools in the United States were queried to obtain a more comprehensive understanding of the actual situation of the development of assistive technologies.2.Analyze the collected information of assistive technologies and decompose them according to the characteristics of their contents to identify the important sectors and constituent elements of the assistive technology work.3.With the help of research on assistive technologies and the understanding of the work of assistive technologies,the relationship between the components is analyzed and the mode of operation of the assistive technology work is defined.Research shows:1.As a result of the mandatory requirements of the law,primary and secondaryschools in the United States have adopted assistive technologies,and they have reached a level that can meet various learning needs in terms of devices,and are also quite mature in terms of service steps and methods.2.The assistive technology for elementary and secondary schools work important components are: to ensure students to the entrance and the use of assistive technology of laws and regulations,to make every student success and to integrate into the society,and meet the needs of assistive technology device,so that the device can be effective use of assistive technology services,professional and interdisciplinary assistive technical team to ensure the high quality of assistive technology services and multi-channel funding for the use of assistive technology.3.Under the concept of high expectations for students with disabilities,all elements of assistive technology support each other to achieve the goal of helping students complete their studies and become successful.The effective use of assistive technology has become an important supporting factor for the success of special education in the United States.
