A Study On The Durkheim's Sociological Methodology

Since the birth of sociology,the issue of the relationship between"individuals" and "society" has been debated endlessly.Sociological researchers are always faced with this dilemma in the choice of research methods:quantitative or qualitative research.In view of this status quo,the author suggests it is necessary to return to the beginning of sociology to find the final answer.Although August Comte and Herbert Spence had the titles of "father of sociology",respectively,there was a lack of detailed consideration of sociology and establishment of academic theory.The sociology of the two remains in the category of philosophy.Durkheim is one of the three founders of sociology.His book "The Rules of Sociological Method" is the first book to describe sociological methodologies in detail,providing the basis for the later theoretical construction of sociology.Therefore,the author takes Durkheim's classic works as the starting point and tries to find out the clues of his thoughts through the interpretation of his classic works,so as to answer the initial questions of the article.The author believes that if we want to accurately grasp the core of Durkheim' s methodology,we must place its classics in the context of its time,and understand Durkheim 's sense of problem in writing.In accordance with this line of thought,the article will begin with the rise of the history of European ideas in the 17th and 19th centuries,especially positivism,and explain the background of the history of the thoughts produced by sociology and explore the influence of the French cultural tradition on the formation of Durkheim's ideas.In the next article,through the study of his classic works,combined withDurkheim' s personal biographies and his research on the history of his writing,the writer will focus on the discussion of Durkheim' s concept of "social facts" and use it as a clue.Durkheim's lifelong academic thought.Following this,this article will discuss Durkheim's practical application with Durkheim's Suicide Theory.Finally,the article will introduce the development of sociological methodology,and combine the ideas of other sociologists and their comments on Durkheim' s sociological methodology to present insights on Durkheim' s sociological methodology.
