| Teacher speech is one of the main factors that affects students’ learning effect,learning psychology and personal development.English learning involves another culture,which will bring some invisible pressure on students in their study.Therefore,teachers’ appropriate speech acts can stimulate students’ interest in English language culture,otherwise their enthusiasm will be blocked.However,due to the dual influence of the traditional culture and the particularity of teacher’s profession,the Chinese traditional teachers usually have the absolute authority.This authority is always embedded in the teachers’ speech acts and expressed in a commanding tone to the students,which makes the students lose the risk of learning the language.For teachers,learning pragmatic theories can help them develop teaching.Appropriate speech acts can relieve students’ learning pressure and cultivate students’ interest in learning.Teachers’ improving pragmatic awareness can refine relationships with students,helping them act as a role model for students in learning language communication.Based on the theory of speech act and Humanitarianism,present teachers’ speech acts in class and the reflection of students’ emotion were researched through the method of classroom observation,interview and questionnaire.And the following problems were found:(1)Fewer or less greetings;(2)Monotonicity or omission of a teacher’s question;(3)Inaccuracy in classroom feedback;(4)Lower satisfaction of teachers’ speech;(5)Emotional teaching needs to be perfected.Based on the related theories,the author puts forward teaching suggestions to teachers:(1)Diversified greetings combined with life;(2)Design questions and prioritize speeches;(3)Accurate and varying feedback;(4)Amending instructions;(5)Teachers improve pragmatic awareness and pay attention to students’ emotion.Through the study of the current teaching situation and teachers’ speech acts,this paper analyzes the existing problems and proposes some relevant improvement measures so as to build harmonious relationships between teachers and students,promoting students’ interpersonal skills and healthy growth. |
