The Style And Meaning Of "Dispirited Culture" Of Post-90 Youth

Subculture is a culture that is in the secondary position of a cultural system.Youth subculture is a product of social structural contradictions,so this research has important sociological significance.As a subculture that has been popularizing in the post-90s youth in recent years,is both a symbol of social transformation and a manifestation of social issues.This article takes the youth subculture research as a perspective,adopts qualitative research as the main method,refers the subculture research theory from Birmingham School,follows the principle of contextualized cultural studies,the article will research the "Dispirited culture"in the complex and ever-changing cultural context of Chinese society:analyzing the characteristics of the style construction of "Dispirited culture " from image,behavior and jargon,and discussing how the " Dispirited culture" creates its own style through the embezzlement,bricolage and homology of mainstream culture symbols.Based on the analysis of the style of "Dispirited culture”,using two modes of "structural mode" and "generation mode" to examine the significance and essence of the "Dispirited culture".The Research finds that the essence of the "bereavement culture" is a "symbolic solution" to the actual problems of the 90s.They have been by means of decadent powerless avatar,sharing the pressure,low desire of "Buddha" life and the deconstruction of "Success",to expresses a gesture of both resistance to the mainstream culture and abandoned resistance.This posture has become a strategy for them to build group identity and achieve self-protection,gain sub-cultural capital that competes for discourse,but at the same time,it is immersed in the contradiction of abandoned resistance because of its inability to "symbolic solution."...
