“English is a widely used international language in the world,and it is an important communication tool of international communication and cooperation as well as an important carrier of thought and culture”(the ministry of education of the People's Republic of China,2018).Along with the raising of key competency in China,basic education curriculum reform takes more and more attention to English which has unique education value for carrying out the fundamental task of strengthening moral education and cultivating people,and it focus on cultivating and developing the students' English key competency,key competency in English subject becomes the core flag of English teaching day by day.Learning ability which is an important ability of language learners becomes one aspect of key competency in English subject,and it is one of the education training points of English subject.As for cultivating learning ability according to the requirement of the key competency in English subject,the author takes forty-two pupils who study at class 1,grade 5 in the attached primary school of Liaocheng University as object of this study,the whole study proceeds for half a year.From the perspective of English subject core literacy to culture the learning ability,the aim of this paper was to cultivate the pupils' ability in finding the rules of English language,make the pupils focus on learning English,help the pupils learn and memory English words by using associative memory.The author focused on the time of students' attention span,the result of students' finding out the rules of language and the learning of associative memory of students as the main observation points,and adopted the classroom observations in the process of researching as well as making two kinds of observation scale for collecting and organizing data of pupils' attention span and the results of pupils finding out the rules of language at English class,and describing pupils' real learning achievement of associative memory as well,which is in order to present the problem and the improving degree of the pupils' English learning ability clearly on the basis of ensuring the authenticity of research problem description and data support as well as the rationality of causes analysis;At the same time,the author analyze the reason whythere's such problems as to the pupils' English learning ability by using interviews and classroom observations to find breakthrough for making a reasonable solution.We can see that through the research,students who study in primary school are unable to find the rules of language,and their attention span is a bit short,and they are unable to use associative memory to learn and memory words at English class.The author summarizes the reasons as the following aspects by using classroom observations and interviews: the teacher doesn't attach importance to guiding students to find the rule of language in the process of English teaching;the teacher's lecture is boring;the teacher doesn't pay attention to the training of associative memory.For the above research findings,the author puts forward some preliminary solutions pertinently: In the course of English teaching,students are trained to observe and conclude the structures of sentences;the teacher design colorful activities with a collection of playing,acting,watching,listening and speaking;the teacher strengthen associative memory training in class.At the same time,the author make concrete proposal and put it into practice,keep improving it later,the teaching practice scheme(the ultimate edition)of this study promoted the students' English learning ability with higher ascension to some degree,at the same time,the author got a deeper understanding of students,English teaching,and more solid professional development in the process of practising,reflecting and modifying the teaching practice scheme.
