As a basic English skill,reading becomes a very important language content and a necessary part of English learning in senior high school,which plays an important role that cannot be neglected in developing students' language ability.However,in the present English reading teaching model,the teacher-centered idea is often advocated,students suck up knowledge passively and individual differences among students cannot be given enough attention,which leads to the bad teaching quality.Under such a background,more and more scholars and teachers start to search more effective teaching model.The traditional graded teaching mode plays a certain role in improving the teaching quality,but so many shorts are revealed,such as,students are graded to different levels and their learning enthusiasm are discouraged.The implicit graded teaching model is based on the positivity of the traditional graded teaching model,students' emotion is paid much attention to.Only the teacher knows the students' levels and they are not graded on public.Therefore,it won't hurt some students' self-esteem or discourage their learning enthusiasm.Based on the theories of zone of proximal development and input hypothesis,the implicit graded teaching model is brought into English reading teaching in senior high school.The author carried out the teaching experiment in Chiping 3th Senior High School in Shandong Province,which lasted for more than four months.The author selected the objects from two natural classes of Grade 1.Class 9 as the experimental class was taught with the implicit graded teaching mode,and Class 10 as the controlled class was taught with the traditional teaching mode.The author used a questionnaire,pre-test paper and post-test paper before and after the experiment.The author used SPSS21.0 to do the independent T-test,so that the following two questions could be answered:Can implicit graded teaching model change students' attitude towards English reading?How does the implicit graded teaching model influence students' English reading ability?During the experiment process,the author adopted some effective actions,such as the students,aims,teaching activities,homework and evaluation,they are all graded in the experimental class.The author resorted to the implicit graded teaching model and got the following conclusion through the questionnaire statistics analysis and the score comparison: implicit graded teaching can change students' attitude towards English reading and improve the achievement in English reading.
