Mathematical thoughts and methods are extracted from the long-time mathematical practice of human beings.They are the essential reflection of mathematical knowledge,and they are the means,ways,and methods to solve and study mathematical issues,and the guidance for teaching.Whether it is the establishment of mathematical concepts,the discovery of mathematical laws,or the resolution to mathematical problems is inseparable from mathematical thinking.As a basic mathematical thinking method,the Combination of Number and Shape is widely applied in the formation and application of mathematical knowledge in junior middle schools.It closely connects “number” with “shape”,using number to help set shape and analyzing number based on shape.This method presents mathematical knowledge from different perspectives to reveal the nature of knowledge,and to quickly solve related problems directly and accurately.The thesis can be divided into five parts.The first part introduces the research background,significance,status at home and abroad,content and methods.The second part discusses the theories of constructivism,the theory of cognitive structure and the characteristics of psychological development of middle school students.The third part defines the meaning of the thinking method of the Combination of Number and Shape,analyzes its characteristics,and provides the principles of the Combination of Number and Shape: equivalence principle,bi-direction principle,and simplicity principle.Besides,this part combines with the author's teaching experience,based on the psychological development and cognitive structure characteristics of middle school students,summarizes and analyzes the related knowledge carriers about the thinking method of the Combination of Number and Shape from the textbooks of junior high school,which covers four major areas: “Number and Algebra”,“Statistics and Probability”,“Graph and Geometry”,and “Synthesis and Practice”.The fourth part provides the teaching suggestions of applying the method of Combination of Number and Shape,and they are: making the Combination of Number and Shape understandable when teaching concepts;penetrating this method in teaching theorems;applying this method in problem-solving teaching;contracting this method in review;moreover,pointing out some considerations in applying the method.The fifth part makes research conclusions as well as the reflections on this method.
