Mathematical symbol language has been widely used in mathematics learning,while the crucial period of learning this language is during the junior middle school stage.This paper is offered information about a survey on the obstacle of mathematical symbol language learning for the rural junior middle school students,and the deep reasons for that.It aims to help improve the methods of mathematics learning and teaching for both students and also teachers.This paper mainly adopts literature research method,questionnaire survey method,test survey method,interview method and so on.It has important theoretical and practical significance.First,by using the literature research method,the concept of mathematical symbol language is obtained by consulting relevant literature can be divided into broad and narrow concepts,this research adopts the narrow concept of narrow sense of mathematical symbol language refers to "have specific mathematical sense to use a special expression of mathematical thought".The mathematical symbol language is characterized by accuracy,universality,generality and abstraction.Second,the questionnaire survey method was adopted.Based on the sample questionnaire of students from three grades in a middle school of Yudu,the results were carefully analyzed in order to learn the students' s study attitude,results,and difficulties on mathematics learning.for the teachers on seven grade teacher spent more time on it,the concept of the eighth grade,ninth grade mathematics teachers to spend more time on the application of it.In grade three students do the math subject have understand topic meaning,cannot be converted into mathematical symbol language,words cannot be established equivalent relation,what did not identify with mathematics knowledge and so on a series of difficulties,to do the math subject only occasionally found existing conditions in sign language.Third,the test survey method was used to analyze the obstacle in students' s mathematical symbol language learning.get mathematical symbol language learning in junior high school students of five kinds of obstacles that mathematical symbol language barriers,mathematical symbol language comprehension obstacles,mathematical symbol language conversion disorder,mathematical symbol language organizational barriers,mathematical symbol language barriers.Fourth,the Interview method was also adopted to work out the ways of eliminating students' s obstacle on mathematical symbol language learning,the reason is disabilities mainly single way of teachers' teaching,student's ability to adapt to the new symbol is weak,accept ability is poor.
