Learning progressions is also called Learning process.It refers to a typical study path.When the students learn a certain knowledge content,different progressive levels are designed around the subject's core concept.Then the appropriate methods are carried on to help students to reach the final level of the subject's core concept from the initial level in a certain time span.The aim of learning progressions is to solve the problems in the science education field: the knowledge covers a wide range without diving into the deep level and the teaching focus on the breadth of knowledge and ignores its depth.Geography has a wide range of knowledge and many contents,and the appearance of learning progressions provides a new way for geography education to solve this problem.The purpose of this study is to explore the construction and teaching practice of learning progressions in senior high school geography subject according to the concept of learning progressions,aiming at enriching the theoretical research of learning progressions in senior high school geography teaching,providing teaching case reference for first-line geography teachers and exploring the effective implementation suggestions of learning progressions in senior high school geography teaching.Research methods such as literature,investigation,statistical analysis and experimental research are mainly used.First of all,the paper introduces the concept of learning progressions,the research status at home and abroad,the components of learning progressions,the design process and the value of education and teaching.Secondly,the research on the application of learning progressions in geography teaching in senior high school and the investigation results are analyzed;Then,the typical knowledge content of the geography textbook of high school is selected to comb the core concept and the learning progressions model around the core concept is constructed;Finally,the teaching case study is carried out under the guidance of learning progressions model.The results of the survey: Learning progressions is rarely used in senior high school geography teaching,mainly because high school geography teachers pay less attention to the frontier of education research and lack initiative,but most of them teach depending on the core concept,which lays the foundation for the construction of learning progressions in teaching.The high school geography teachers do not have a good grasp of the students learning emotion,which leads to the poor pertinence of the classroom teaching design and the large capacity of the classroom teaching.The experimental results show that the teaching under the guidance of learning progressions can promote the development of students ' cognitive level of thinking.The application of learning progressions in geography teaching makes the arrangement of classroom teaching content more reasonable,the classroom capacity more moderate.It is also helpful for the improvement of students' geography learning efficiency and the construction of knowledge network.Students' geography study results will naturally improve.On the basis of the above research,this paper puts forward some suggestions on the application of learning progressions to geography teaching in Senior High school,which is illustrated from three aspects: the construction of learning progressions ' model,the development of evaluation tools,and the teaching practice based on learning progressions.It is hoped that it can provide some reference for the application of learning progressions in the geography teaching of high school.
