Objective: to understand the status of extracurricular sports participation in middle school students, and to construct and test the theoretical model of participation behavior of middle school students. Methods: firstly, the basic demand scale(BNSS)was revised and tested by project analysis, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, retest and homogeneity test. The second,a random sample of xuzhou city 5 middle school, independent support scale, exercise basic demand scale, motivation scale, planning behavior scale, schools, families, communities, rating scale and sports activities,to600 middle school students as the object of investigation, analyzed about the present situation of middle school students' extracurricular sports participation behavior, using independent sample T test, variance analysis, hierarchical regression to study the data; The hypothesis model is analyzed by the structural equation model. Results: the revised basic demand scale for exercise was finally extracted from three factors, and the basic demand scale was obtained for junior high school students composed of 14 questions. At the same time, the reliability and internal consistency reliability of the scale are tested, and the results show that the scale has good reliability and validity. The physical activity of middle school students involved in extracurricular physical activity was mainly focused on the small amount of exercise, and there was a certain correlation between the variables and the relationship between the participating behaviors. On gender, independent support, ability demand internal motivation and identity, perceived behavior control, exercise intention and behavior exist significant differences in gender(P<0.05).In grade difference, with the increase of grade, most variables show a gradual decline. At the same time, independent support, capacity demand, attitude, school and community did not show businesstravel, and all the other variables showed different degrees of difference. The six factors in the hierarchical regression model influence the participation behavior of middle school students' extracurricular sports activities.Among them, independent support and behavior have the greatest influence, followed by internal motivation.Found from the structural equation model,is the result of physical education teachers exercise independent support can predict basic requirements, which can predict self-determination motivation, then through plans to exercise influence behavior intention, ultimately affect the participation behavior. It is worth noting Objective factors have a direct effect on behavior, and objective factors can influence behavior through exercise intention. The participation behavior model of extracurricular physical activity was able to explain 23% and 21% of male students' exercise behavior, and the multi-group analysis showed that there was no gender difference in the model. Conclusion: the revised basic demand scale(BNSS)has good reliability and validity in junior high school students, and can be used as an effective and practical training demand tool in psychological research.the amount of physical activity of middle school students is significantly lower, and the proportion of girls is higher than that of male students.Independent support and basic requirements, exercise autonomy motivation, plan and exercise behavior intention and other variables are involved in the behavior contribute, formed in the intention to exercise attitude and subjective norms play an important role in the process. Objective factors(schools, families and communities)act as the variables between exercise intention and behavior, play a regulative role, and can improve the participation degree of extracurricular sports activities. The established model can explain the formation path of participation behavior of middle school students' extracurricular sports activities to some extent, but there is no gender difference in the model.
