Explaining is one of the most prevalent action in the mathematics teaching,still the main method in the school teaching.As a very wide range of teaching skill for mathematical explanation skill,is a kind of teaching skill that the mathematic teacher must master.Pre-service teachers are a group that is going to work,their understanding and use of mathematical explanation skills,can affect the students' learning situation directly,and affect the development of future education indirectly.Conversely,the mature teachers are a group that has accumulated a certain teaching experience on the post,they have a certain understanding and use for mathematical explanation skills,this study tries to make a comparative study of the mathematical explanation skills of the two types of teachers,and analyzes their ability of teaching recognition,ability of teaching implementation and ability of teaching design and their differences among these three elements of the two types of teachers.Four kinds of research methods have been used in this study: literature reading method,questionnaire survey,classroom observation and case interview.Initially,this study has already carried out a large number of literature reviewing,and has numerous relevant verifications about this research.Additionally,the study selected juniors,seniors,the academic postgraduates and the professional postgraduates,56 pre-service teachers,Two high school students,177 students and 4 mature teachers in two high schools as samples,for proper revision of the questionnaire follow the relevant literature and papers.The first questionnaire is testing the implementation status of the mathematical explanation skills of pre-service teachers,and the second questionnaire is testing the feedback status,the target of the test is middle school students.Moreover,through the classroom observation can have a visual comparison of two types of teachers' differences during the period of the teaching preparation,teaching implementation and teaching reflection.Eventually,through the case interview of the four pre-service teachers and three mature teachers,we can have a future comparison concerning two types of mathematic teachers.With the investigation and research,the differences between two types of teachers are not evident;but in the implementation of the explanation skills;also in the teaching design.The innovation about this study: Connecting the explanation skills and mathematics closely,in the background of one lesson“the concept of the function” comparison and study the differences about the abilities of the recognition,implementation and design of pre-service teachers and the mature teachers,according to the results,putting forward the teaching suggestion.
