Since the reform and opening up,under the influence of the market economy, the Chinese people's subjective awareness and values have changed, which has caused a strong impact on the traditional concept of mate selection.Scholars at home and abroad have conducted research on the concept of mate selection from different perspectives and have achieved fruitful results. However, from the perspective of geography, the literature on the criteria, importance, and spatial distribution of the concept of mate selection is relatively scarce. Therefore, this article attempts to study the geographical distribution of Chinese women's mate choice concept on the national spatial scale from the perspective of geography, and conducts empirical research to analyze the criteria and importance ranking of contemporary urban women's mate selection. This article through the literature analysis design research program and interview indicators. On this basis,Python software was used to collect the mate-match data of the national urban space and visualize it with Arc GIS 10.0 software platform to analyze the spatial distribution pattern of women's mate. Then, through SPSS19.0 software, descriptive statistical analysis of the questionnaire data, combined with interview data, conducted an empirical case study of women's mate choice. The results show:(1)Contemporary Chinese urban women tend to choose between 21 and 35 years of age,and males between 171 and 180 cm tall are their spouses.Their academic qualifications, marriage history, income, and housing conditions are generally not high.(2)The comparison of the spatial scales on the national scale of the country shows that the urban women in the northeast and southwest regions require the age of the ideal spouse to be relatively large;women in different regions have a certain positive correlation with the height requirements of men in the process of mate selection and the local height per capita;Women's education requirements for ideal spouses in provincial capital cities are generally higher;only women in the northwestern region of Xinjiang have higher requirements for male marriage history than other regions in the country;women's monthly income level for ideal spouses and Chinese economic development level. There is consistency in spatial differentiation;women in urban areasin the northeast and north of China have slightly higher requirements for housing than areas south of the Huaihe River in the Qinling Mountains.(3)Hotspot analysis found that high-risk clustered areas of the age of the spouse appeared in the North China Plain and the Liaoning Peninsula;the low-value cluster of heights for selection of spouses was located in the southeastern region;four high-value clustered areas with maternal education were found in the country, respectively.Urban groups,Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomerations,Yangtze River Delta urban agglomerations,“Chengdu urban agglomerations +urban agglomerations in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River + urban agglomerations in central Guizhou Province”;no obvious geographical spatial patterns are required for the history of marriage;monthly minimum income level requirements and areas The level of economic development is consistent;housing conditions require high-value clusters to appear in parts of the northwest and southwest.(4)The case of Xiangyang City shows that the ranks of urban women on the importance of the content of mate selection are in order: sincerely like, understanding ways,like-minded people, household registration, marriage needs, nature of work, personality. From the comparison of different age groups, education levels, and industry types, women found that women are the most important in their choice of partners. They have the same emphasis. In short, people's ideas have changed, and more and more people are choosing their partners with a rational mindset, paying more attention to their own subjective awareness, and more considering the other's personal characteristics, development potential and other factors.
