The Sociological Research About Chang Of University Teachers' Criterions And Ways Of Spouse-selection

Taking the university teachers as our research object, carrying out the theoretical perspective of sociological theories, collecting the materials by the methods of the questionnaire investigation and document, using a research method combined by qualitative and quantitative measures, this paper probes and describes the change of university teachers' criterions and ways of spouse-selection in two historical periods of years-from 1978 to 1992 and from 1993 to 2003, and tries to analyse their influencing factors on the former base.The paper includes five parts. The first part introduces the research purpose, significance, situation and design. The second part describes in detail the university teachers' criterions of spouse-selection on political and social condition, economic condition, physiological condition, character condition, sentiment condition in two historical periods of years at first, then has drawn the following conclusions: with the development of times, they have reduced the requests of the political and social condition, and turned to pursue the intending spouse's academic credential and their personal economic condition; that is to say, practical character become obvious.The mordern character become obvious too.We find many factors affecting the university teachers' criterions of spouse-selection more or less such as sex, historical period of years of spouse-selection, age of spouse-selection, the personal condition and family's economic condition when selecting spouse by establishing the model of multiple and logistic regression at last. The third part researches the change of university teachers' ways of spouse-selection. It has found that the way of self-determination to select their spouses become the most popular way, and the space of spouse-selection become wider by describing the change of the university teachers' way of spouse-selection to acquaintance and that many factors affect the change such as sex, choice and historical period of years of spouse-selection by probing into the cause. Then the research founding shows that university teachers' consciousness of marriage-determination become stronger and the right of their marriage-determination become much more independent by describing the change of their ways of the marriage-determination. The historical period of years of spouse-selection and the university teachers' consciousness of marriage-determination affect the change of their marriage-determination ways. The forth part shows the changes of the university teachers' criterions of spouse-selection themselves, validates the conclusion of the second part that practical character become obvious by comparing the changes of university teachers' criterions of spouse-selection before and after their marriages. The last part concludes the research and discusses the following viewpoints coming from the research: practical character of criterion of the university teachers' spouse-selection become obvious; There is no evident difference of the request to the ideal spouse's economic condition between male and female when they select their spouses; there is no evident change of the request to the ideal spouse's sentiment condition.
