RFID, the abbreviation of Radio Frequency Identification, is a kind of communication technology that transfers data through high frequency or ultra-high frequency carrier wave. With the mobile communication technology becoming more and more advanced, the concept of "Io E" and internet of thing is becoming reality gradually. RFID is a kind of communications technology and applications which is related to the national security. Our nation issued relevant policies of RFID as early as 2006, and then the relevant offices drafted and developed an independent protocol of RFID in 2009. The protocol has been revised and improved continuously, and many tag chips, readers and application systems based on this protocol have been designed and developed successfully. But with the limit of the design technology and manufacturing technology, most of these tag chips are with high-power waste and very short communication distance which makes it impossible for these tags to achieve large-scale commercial use and to compete with foreign products in the marketplace.In the past two years, with the support and guidance of national, IC industry has become the most active part of the capital market. The low amount, low quality and serious derailment with industry of China’s IC personnel have become increasingly prominent, which is the most powerful bound obstructing China’s IC industry to become perfect. Lab’s environment in universities is the final training field of these personnel before they enter the industry enterprises. The author of this thesis has found that the design platforms of many IC design laboratory are inefficient, the design methodology is out-of-date and servers’ hardware resource is so seriously waste that personnel cannot exploit the advance and high-performance of EDA tools. All of these will greatly increases the time used to complete the project, thus reducing the time for these personnel to study other advanced IC design methodology closer to the industry.This thesis is based on the Linux OS, shell script language and Tcl/Tk language. This thesis studies deeply the Synopsys main EDA tools in the flow of IC design, implementation and verification, and then analyzes the key technology to build highly efficient IC design platform. And this thesis designs all the required script that the platform needed. This thesis builds a platform including source code revision control systems, simulation script generating program and logic synthesis script generating program. The code revision control system which includes code check into subsystem designed with Linux shell and code check out GUI subsystem designed with Tcl/Tk can help IC designers to manage versions of the code efficiently. The simulation script generating program designed with the Tcl/Tk can help IC designers generate a Makefile script required by VCS-MX through only a set of simple settings. And the logic synthesis scripts generating program designed by the Tcl/Tk can help IC designers to generate synthesis scripts which meet their design requirements quickly.On the IC design platform descripted above, based on independent RFID protocol, and with the understanding of IC design and implementation, this thesis analysis the key technologies for designing tag chip baseband circuit including low-power design methodology. This thesis designs the Verilog baseband code, completes the functional verification before logic synthesis based on Design Compiler, completes power analysis based on Prime Time PX, and ultimately achieves the joint verification with reader based on the board level FPGA system. Compared with the previous generation design based on the same protocol, the baseband circuit designed by this thesis has about 30% power consumption reduction with a negligible increase in area. In the joint verification with reader, the baseband circuit meets the protocol requires completely. At the same time, with the help of the IC design platform designed by this thesis, the time for the entire chip design, implementation, verification is greatly reduced. The IC design platform has greatly improved the efficiency of the project finishing. And all these applications have verified the correctness and utility of the IC design platform.The IC design platform built by this thesis has been widely adopted in other projects of the author’s laboratory, and has received very good results. With more optimizations, the design platform can be widely adopted in other IC design laboratories. The complete design contained the baseband circuit designed in this thesis has successfully entered tapeout stage.
