In recent years, the competition among the telecom operators has been more intense with more and more 4G users. The breadth and depth of coverage is the focus of LTE network construction. The establishment of the network brand with high quality is the key point of the development of the telecom operators. The call-drop parameters reflect the performance of LTE wireless network directly, which are also the measurement of the LTE network. Improving the call-drop indicators is the important opportunity for setting up the brand image for the telecom operators.With the opportunity of "High-quality Network 2015-2016" project, Dalian Unicom has been enhancing the wireless network coverage in the city area to improve his users' perceptions. With the network optimization reports from the eight regional grids, collecting parameters, analyzing related data, selecting key indicators and summarizing the main reasons of call drops, this thesis finds out the most important four factors leading to call drops. Combining with the practical experience, basic theories and technology, this thesis sums up the analysis ideas, processing flows and optimization methods. It solves the practical problems of call drops, effectively improves the call-drop indicators, and is good guidance for the network optimization.First, this thesis analyzes and expounds the basic principles, analysis ideas, processing flows and optimization methods on the four main reasons of call drops-weak coverage, adjacent regions mismatch/with leakage, handoff and interference. It helps the network achieve the best running state and obtain the best benefits through technical methods or the parameter adjustment.Secondly, this thesis particularly describes the whole optimization process of call drops of the LTE, according to the actual process of Dalian Unicom network optimization. It concludes and summarizes the analyzing process of the index of the call-drop traffic statistics, the top districts and RF optimization in the entire network system.Finally, based on the collected data of network optimization and typical cases, this thesis compares the performance of the network before and after optimization work in the form of chart, which shows that the call-drop indicators are significantly improved. The results are confirmed by the feedback of the users from the angle of perception and use of level, and it also illustrates the necessity and importance of LTE network optimization.
