| Digital image processing is developing fast disciplines in the one of information processing science. Currently, digital image processing has been widely used in biomedical engineering, aerospace and aviation technology, military police, robot vision and other fields. The digital image processing algorithms achieved in the FPGA are studied in this paper, giving full to use the unique FPGA parallelism and offering new possibilities for real-time breakthrough in digital image processing algorithms.This article is based on the Altera FPGA Cyclone Ⅳ as the core set of image acquisition, image storage, image processing, image display as one of the image acquisition and processing system. Image acquisition based on CMOS camera will capture images in real-time and the processing algorithms including contrast, brightness adjustment, image fusion, sobel edge detection and discrete cosine transform, the processed data is cached in SDRAM, according to VGA drive timing display the SDRAM cache frame.The entire logic design and synthesis are completed in QUARTUS Ⅱ, functional simulation using Modelsim verified, and finally board-level testing. During board-level tests show flexibility and take advantage of FPGA parallelism, can effectively improve the image acquisition and image processing algorithms in real time. |
