With the development of electronic technology,the mobile communication equipment gradually step into people’s lives.Especially tablet computers,have won the favor of people and become a life style.This brings new challenges for antenna engineers about how to design the broadband,multiband,miniaturization tablet computer antennas,which also become the top priority of antenna research.In this paper,a brief overview about the research background and development status of tablet computer antennas,main performance parameters of the antennas and design methods of mobile terminal miniaturization,multi-band antenna are given in sequence;Then the coupled-fed technique and parallel resonant structure loading technique have been used to design the four tablet computer antennas for WWAN/LTE(698 MHZ~960MHZ,1710MHZ~2690MHZ)band operation.These antennas have already been made and measured respectively,as follows:The first one,the winding folded tablet computer antenna with a T-shaped strip,through the combination of a pair of capacitance inductance,produces a new low resonance mode by parallel resonant structure loading technique.The second one is the tablet antenna with three nested inverted-L strip.With the lumped parallel resonant structure loading technique low band bandwidth increases.By adding the distributed strip like L,the resonance modes of middle and high band are produced,combined with the coupled-fed shorting strip.The third tablet computer antenna,combined a C-shaped strip with an inverted-F shaped strip,through two groups of inductance and capacitance,makes the low band and high band generate resonance mode,and then uses the irregular radiation strip to optimize the antenna.The fourth one,owning double branches like horns,by using lumped and distributed parallel resonant loading technology at the same time,achieves the design requirements.The fifth one,an inverted-L shaped MIMO tablet computer tablet antenna for WWAN/LTE band operation,fed through two ports(A and B)respectively,with the aid of two groups of matching network,not only ensures the isolation between the two feeding strips but also covers the WWAN/LTE frequencies.In this paper,the five tablet computer antennas have covered WWAN/LTE frequencies to meet the design requirements.The designed antennas have already been processed and tested.It is shown that the test and simulated return loss is coincided basically,and within the working band the radiation characteristics also meet the requirements,which show high radiation efficiency.All of them have a good application prospect.
