Image is one of the most conforms to the sensory information elements, human constantly acquire higher spatial resolution and more appropriate method of image processing to meet the growing demand for information,which lead to increasing data size of image and more closely correlation between data.There is a much higher standard for the real-time and diversity of image processing.Meanwhile, the image processing platform which meet all kinds of the needs is started by the original mainframe box processing platform, develops into a concomitant stage of embedded processing platform and PC workstation processing platform.Based on the advantages of the embedded and PC on image processing, video stream real-time processing as the main line, using Arria V GX series FPGA from Altera corporation and 8-core DSP from TI company as the main hardware, and combining the MFC framework and OpenCV library to develop the corresponding PC suite, we set up a new high-speed multi-function image processing platform for video streams. The FPGA parallel acceleration, DSP co-processing, the ping-pong buffer storage technology ensure the real-time of platform, and the comprehensive application of the video codec transform, image rotation transform, target detection and SIFT transform technology ensure the diversity of the function of platform.Finally we have realized the video format conversion, electronic despun, automatic target-scoring and other functions.The platform is not only applicable to many areas, but also the real-time performance and stability is good, function is diversified, easy to cut and corresponding extension.In the field of consumer electronics, the platform with proper packaging, can be directly used as a video format converter;In the field of military operations, the platform after miniaturization cut out(remove excess interface debugging circuit), can be equipped on the unmanned aerial vehicles and ships, eliminate camera rotation, and optimize the quality of electronic reconnaissance.In shooting training, it can be real-time automatic target-scoring cooperated with PC suite to improve training efficiency.At the same time, because the image input and output interface and OpenCV algorithms library on PC is rich, it only need to increase the corresponding programming logic can be applied for the new requirements.
