WeChat, as an emerging social media, builds a cyberspace on the basis of real-life social relationship network. In the WeChat Moments, people count their words may be humorous and make hilarious reviews. With the specific software, their hidden self would now and then jump out in its virtual space and combine with the real-life ‘me' in daily life. This paper focuses on the existence of users' self-presence in WeChat and the effects it may produce on their social capital.The author collects 302 questionnaires, filled out by Chongqing college students,about WeChat Moments and inputs all the data into SPSS 20.0. With the Theory of Self-presence of Erving Goffman and Social Capital Theory of Pierre Bourdieu as the theoretical foundation, this paper clarifies the relationship between self-presence and social capital in the college users of WeChat by using factor analysis, analysis variance,correlation analysis and other related analytic methods.In a word, the author finds the WeChat users, no matter male or female, do show,in a certain sense, their self-presence; the social capital does not show any significant differences between students view or post Moments with higher frequency and those who do not; users who get varying degrees of attention and practical help have different social capital; users' self-presence in We Chat Moments imposes little influence on their social capital.
