In today’s highly competitive display fields, TFT-LCD has surmounted CRT in performance and market share. TFT-LCD is becoming one of the mainstream display products and a highlight of the global economic growth in 21 st century with its characteristic of comparative performance, easily mass-produced, highly automated driving, low cost materials and large development space, etc. It is extensively used for cell phone display, in-vehicle automotive interiors, projection television, computer monitor, and military aviation needs, etc.This paper analyzes the design of TFT-LCD source driver circuit. The structure is divided into digital and analog two parts, mainly including six modules —bidirectional shift register, data register, data latch, level shifter, D/A converter and output buffer.The design utilizes 726 output channels, 8-bit digital data input, 256-gray scale voltage and provides 16 Million color display.The circuit is driven by rail-to-rail output amplifier; the dynamic range can reach between 0.2V to VDDA-0.2V. The design architecture is half-voltage operating(1/2AVDD). Eighteen external reference voltages of gamma input are able to generate LCD correction curve by internal DAC of the system.The chip design has been taped out; the driving circuit completely meets LCD performance requirements with the results of laboratory test and verification.
