Instrument systems are widely applied to testing and measurement fields.While new instruments and functions generate new testing demand,traditional instruments wouldn’t be considered as a universal solution in that the complicated and time consuming development process,and high cost of producing and maintaining for the system are barely affordable.Based on the hardware platform of the self-developed universal test instrument,this paper proposed a platform supporting software on the host which is universal for modularized instrument to solve the existing problems mentioned above.The specific research focuses on the following aspects:1)Overall scheme:the research framework and the scheme of the instrument host software supporting platform were put forward aiming at modularization,generalization and instrumentation.2)The research and design of embedded operating system especially for instrument.Aiming to realize real-time task control,multi-task scheduling and hardware device interface management,this paper modified an instrumental embedded Linux operating and developed the software of the frequently-used device drivers.3)The research of the software of the networked and high-speed instrumental bus for modularized instrument system.In order to realize data transmission among modules,design and implement the software of the bus.In addition,the software of bus simulation is realized with a powerful support for developing and debugging application.4)The research of auxiliary tools for developing and executing application of the host.Design and realize four essential tools according to the demand of developing and executing application.The realization of the instrumental embedded Linux operating system and the frequently-used device drivers lays a foundation for the host software platform.The development of the software of the networked and high-speed instrumental bus guarantees the data transmission among modules.The achievement of the auxiliary tools gives support to the software of the host with the function of receiving,saving,executing and managing the application.Finally,by designing a practical example,this paper validated the proposed software platform.Thus,with the realization of the shared hardware/software platform for multiple instruments,the research and development efficiency could be improved,as well as the development and maintenance cost.
