With the improving of the hardware computing power, the research of LDPC has made rapid development. At present LDPC codes are used in 5G.eMBB. Link16, which was developed by US army in 1980s,powerful and excellent, provides security and reliable tactical data for aeroamphibious platforms. However, modern military technology change with each passing day and military communication environment becomes more and more complex and inscrutability. The optimization and improvement of the Link 16 data Link has been on the agenda. Under such a background, this paper studied application of Q-LDPC codes in Link16.This paper puts forward an improved Link 16 which uses Q-LDPC codes and greatly improve the BER performance of Link 16. In addition,this paper implements original and improved Link16 on DSP.At first, This paper theoretically analyzed the Link16’s BER performance in white gaussian noise channel and burst error channel.Next, this paper applies Q-LDPC codes to Link 16, present construction algorithm and coding algorithm of the Q-LDPC code and improve the traditional BP algorithm. After that, the BER performance of original Link 16 and improved Link 16 is compared by this paper using Matlab, the BER performance of improved Link 16 respectively using the proposed and traditional BP algorithm is compared by this paper using Matlab.Finally, this paper implements original and improved Link16 on DSP and present the results of the implementation.From the simulation results from Matlab and the implementation results on the DSP, the BER performance of the improved Link 16 is far much better than the original Link16, the iterative times and BER performance of proposed BP algorithm is far better than the traditional BP algorithm.
