AP Association Based On Caching In Wireless Information Centric Netowrk

As users pay more and more attention to content itself, content distribution becomes the most important demand of Internet users, and the emergence of Information Centric Network (ICN) is to meet the needs of users for a large number of content distribution. In recent years, there have been a lot of research work in Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) and ICN. Among them, one of the main characteristics of the information centric network - caching is one of the hotspots. At the same time, with the popularity of wireless applications, more and more users connect to Internet through mobile devices such as smart phones and laptops. WLAN with large-scale deployment of IEEE 802.11 series of standards can satisfy the requirement of users to get access to Internet anytime. However,researchers usually regard the associate APs in WLAN and caching in ICN as two disjoint research fields, and do not consider the connection and interaction between them.In this thesis, we focus on the influences between caching and WLAN,and model these two problems as an optimization problem. Then we propose a heuristic algorithm - AP Association based on Caching in Wireless Information Centric Network, to solve this problem. Finally, we evaluate the algorithm to prove its improvement in network efficiency and cache hit ratio, and its achievements in load balancing.
