This paper mainly analyzes and designs L-band active received antennas for vehicles.Based on the study of two types of antennas which include microstrip patches and symmetrical dipoles,andconsidering the real application scenariothat the latitudes of vehicles in China,some polarized antennas which are suitable for satellite communications are presented.Besides,the RF front-end(the filter and the low noise amplifier)of the active antenna are also designedand fabricated in this paper.The main content of this article includes the following aspects:1.Based on the study of slot-coupled microstrip antennas,a three-layer circularly polarized slot antenna for L-band is designed.According to latitude range of China,the second mode of the microstrip antenna is selected to fulfil the expected requirements.2.Based on the analysis of traditional dipoles,ahigh-gain cross-printed dipole antenna with wide 3 dB lobe and axial ratio bandwidth is proposed.3.According to the increasingly requirements of the the antenna miniaturization,a ceramic microstrip antenna is presented.Compared to traditional PCB dielectric boards,the ceramic have higher dielectric constants and lowerloss correction cut,which make them become the excellent candidate for satellite communications antenna substrates.4.Finally,the front-end circuit of the L-band active received antenna is designed.The low-noise amplifier and microstrip filter in the RF front-end circuit are analyzed,designed,and tested.So,the entire RF front-end system was completed.Aiming to the L-band active receiving antenna for vehicles,three types of antennas were presented in this article.According to the different requirements,these three types of antennas can all meet the latitudes range ofpractical application in China.
