With the increase of external environment uncertainty, a key question for organizational management is to find effective ways to promote employees' proactive behavior. Therefore, as an important part of proactive behavior, take charge behavior has received both scholars and practitioners' attention. Power distance and interpersonal concordance is two significant factor of Chinese culture, since interpersonal concordanc is significantly influenced by tenure, we would like to explore the relationship between take charge and job performance, involving the moderation rol of power distance and positional tenture.This thesis consists of seven parts. The first part, namely the introduction part, outlined the background, theoretical contribution, and framework of this research. The second part reviewed the current research of job performance, proactive behavior, taking charge behavior, power distance and positional tenure. We framed our research model, including the theoretical base and hypotheses, in the third part. And we presented the study design and data collection process in the fourth part. Moreover, the measurement of variables, and the analysis of reliability and validity was shown in the fourth part. The results of this thesis were reported in the fifth part. Samples from 356 employees in various industries supported:(1) There is a significantly positive relationship between taking charge behavior and formal performance and creative performance(2) the power distance climate moderate the relationship between taking charge behavior and formal performance and creative performance(3) the relationship between taking charge behavior and formal performance is moderated by positional tenure;(4) the relationship between taking charge behavior and creative performance is moderated by positional tenure;(5) There is a three-way interaction between taking charge, positional tenure and power distance in the taking charge behavior and formal performance and creative performance. The sixth part discussed the research findings of this thesis. And the last part discussed the theoretical contributions, practical implications, and research limitations of this thesis.
