As the results of innovative practices,micro-innovation plays an important role in innovative practices as well as the economic growth and transformation.Micro-innovation is not only a kind of innovative thinking,but also a kind of innovative manner.On the one hand,the micro-innovation research at home and abroad is still in the stage of theoretical exploration,and most research is confined to concept definition and experience sum-up,lack of clear and systematic theoretical system and scientific empirical research.There is less research on the type of micro-innovation,affecting factors and the effects of different types of micro-innovation to innovation performance under different scenarios,and so on at home and abroad.So it is significant to research micro-innovation for improving innovation theory.On the other hand,innovation is an important path to advance enterprises' transformation and upgrade.Micro-innovation has an important role to improve innovation performance for enterprises,especially SMEs,and micro-innovation is an effective way to practice the government policy of the ?massive entrepreneurship and innovation? and other policies.So micro-innovation research has important significance in guiding the practice of micro-innovation.The paper discusses and analyzes micro-innovation from two aspects of the micro-innovation theory and practices of enterprise micro-innovation.First of all,the micro-innovation theory research.(1)The paper defines micro-innovation from the perspective of innovation content.(2)The paper compares the features among micro-innovation,sustaining innovation and disruptive innovation from the perspective of market innovation.And the paper compares the features among micro-innovation,incremental innovation and radical innovation from the perspective of technology innovation.By the analysis of features comparison and the implication of micro-innovation,the paper summarizes the traits of micro-innovation.(3)Micro-innovation can be divided into imitative micro-innovation,continued micro-innovation,and independent micro-innovation d based on its characteristics in terms of the innovativeness,the influence of market interruption and the repetitiveness in innovation domain.(4)Case study.By the multiple cases study of Baidu search products,Alipay,Tencent Wechat,Qihoo 360,Sina Weibo and other Internet leading enterprises,the paper analyzes the practical course of enterprise micro-innovation and the impact on performance.And the paper demonstrates and explains the main traits of enterprise micro-innovation and the basic types of micro-innovation further.Next,empirical research on micro-innovation types,innovation affecting factors and innovation performance.In the stage of empirical study,through the method of questionnaire,the author collected 258 practical data of enterprise micro-innovation in Zhejiang province,and finally got 206 effective data after further filtration.The paper implements reliability and validity analysis on the data collected by using SPSS 19.0,and uses Pearson correlation analysis to analyze the relationship between affecting factors and basic types of micro-innovation,and explores the effects of different types of micro-innovation on innovation performance under different scenarios by regression analysis,and discusses the mediation effect of micro-innovation.(1)The correlation analysis between basic types of micro-innovation and affecting factors.(2)the effects of different types of micro-innovation on innovation performance under different scenarios.(3)The exploration of the mediation effect of basic types on the influence of affecting factors on innovation performance.Finally,findings,suggestions and significance and micro-innovation research prospects.The paper proposes optimization strategies about the performance improvement based on innovation factors and the selection of firm micro-innovation types.By the theoretical and empirical analysis,the paper main shows that:(1)Micro-innovation can be divided into imitative micro-innovation,continued micro-innovation,and independent micro-innovation.Micro-innovation has the trait of all-round openness,broad penetration,duality,fast iteration,trial and error,and user experience first,and so on(2)Case study shows that Internet enterprises tend to select independent micro-Innovation of internal R&D innovation and industry alliance innovation,and enterprises are prone to choose imitative micro-innovation of leading users propelled innovation and supplier-impelled innovation,Furthermore,enterprises focus to sustain the market in use of continued micro-innovation of market-maintaining innovation,technology update innovation and policy-induced innovation.(3)On the basis of theoretical and empirical research,this paper analyses the impact of the main micro-innovation affecting factors on micro-innovation types,and the results show that affecting factors including element resources,management resources and external restrictions have more prominent impact on imitative micro-innovation,while have lower correlation with independent micro-innovation and continued micro-innovation.In particular,an enterprise tends to choose imitating micro-innovation when innovation element is deficient,innovation risk is overly high or market demand is insufficient.And the unreasonable organizational setting or the weakness in enterprise innovation awareness,including the management level and staff's unwillingness to make innovation and enterprise culture does not favour for the advancement and development of enterprise micro-innovation.As well,enterprises tend to select continuous or imitating micro-innovation when related laws,regulations or standards are not in favour of facilitating innovation.(4)The corresponding impact of every type of micro-innovation on the innovation performance of enterprises may vary,which directly results in different decisions about micro-innovation of enterprises accordingly.The paper selects two scenario variables: enterprise life cycle,industry type that a certain enterprise belongs to.Then it analyzes the impact of micro-innovation types on innovation performance in different scenarios.The empirical research indicates: continued micro-innovation and independent micro-innovation have positive relationship with innovation performance of enterprises whereas imitative micro-innovation has inverted U-shaped relationship with enterprise's innovation performance.In order to improve innovation performance effectively,the SMEs at embryonic stage should choose the strategies of imitative innovation,the optimal choice of the SMEs at growth stage should be the continued micro-innovation and independent micro-innovation,and it is better for the SMEs at mature stage to resort to the independent micro-innovation.Traditional manufacturing SMEs should take the continued micro-innovation strategy,and technology-based manufacturing SMEs should adopt independent micro-innovation while service-oriented SMEs should choose continued micro-innovation and independent micro-innovation.(5)Different types of micro-innovation play different degrees role of mediating effect in the influence of affecting factors on innovation performance.
