Precious metals, represented by gold and silver, have enJoyed impressive performance in the financial market of recent years, drawing the attention of investors who Join the games of this field. Among those investors, the maJority chooses commercial banks as their investing channel. Over the past decade or more, international commercial banks has established a completely new international commercial banking system, which was led by commercial services. Meanwhile, significant changes have also taken place in their operation ideologies. Commercial banks launch competitions not only in the field of traditional businesses, but in a variety of emerging businesses; intermediate business, a new module in this field, is also catching increasing attention. Precious metals business, which feature the multiple characteristics of commodity transaction and financial transactions, etc, and boast a large income contribution for intermediate business, enJoy a long history of development overseas and has been favored continually. Over the past long period of time, China's commercial banks carried out their operations in a traditional business model dominated by the business of loans and deposits. In recent years, however, with China's constant improvement in the economic development and opening to the outside world, an increasing number of domestic banks are learning the excellent operating models of foreign commercial banks.As China's macroeconomic operation has entered a period of new normal, for years to come, the financial market businesses of the commercial banks are pressed with a transition opportunity of leapfrog development. It is likely that personal precious metal business will become a new growth point of profit for strategic transition of commercial banks, playing a significant function in the development of financial market business. This business can exert influences on customer relationship management, customer loyalty, and comprehensive service capacity, and its level of development will directly affect the core competitiveness of the banks. Furthermore, a favorable development of this business can also play a very active part for the overall business competitions in a short run. Therefore, the development of this business is significant, and cannot be achieved in an isolate manner. Developing the precious metal business in a sound way can effectively create more profits and open up new markets, which is of great significance for the strategic transition of commercial banks. The personal precious metal business of J Bank has reflected a high-growth over the past years, and following such development trend, it is bound to make even larger contribution to the fields of creating income and customer retaining in the foreseeable future, adding an important chapter for J Bank's strategic transition.This paper conducted a study on the development strategies of J Bank's personal precious metal business, and made analyses on the current development situation of precious metal business and relevant theory summary. Furthermore, through interviewing practitioners of this field and analyzing public questionnaire, the author of this paper identified problems existed in the precious metal business of J Bank, and put forward specific measures for the problems, giving conducive and workable suggestions from the perspective of bank business operation.
