Enterprises are the main participants of innovation and the foundation of the national innovation system. China's progress depends on the development of domestic enterprises, but the main development power of enterprises depends on fostering innovation capability and core competitiveness. How to cultivate their own repository and enhance their independent innovation capacity is a core problem in the field of strategic management research. Under the background of the globalization of knowledge economy, and with the increasing of technical complexity, the uncertainty of technological innovation and the integration of innovative technology, the enterprises find effective partners to form complementary resource advantages by establishing an Innovation Ecosystem, in order to obtain a common evolutionary advantage and enhance their independent innovation capacity. Participants in research and development alliances face a difficult challenge:how to maintain sufficiently open knowledge exchange to achieve alliance objectives while controlling knowledge flows to avoid unintended leakage of valuable technology. Therefore, choosing an appropriate form of cooperation or governance structure is an important mechanism in achieving a balance between these potentially.Based on the in-depth understanding of the technical innovation theory, resource-based theory, transaction cost theory, and the compilation of relevant research literature, the paper thinks the difficulties of external components technology development as a moderator and conducts a research framework of "Cooperative Innovation Alliances' characteristics-enterprise independent innovation performance". Meanwhile, the author conducts a research on the 74 Chinese automobile manufacturing enterprises between 1996 and 2013 to collects enterprises'annual reports, patent data, co-patent data, and discusses the matching mechanism of innovation alliance types and governance structures between integrated innovation firms and components developers and analyzes the effects of the matching on integrated innovation enterprise's independent innovation performance by using the statal2.0 and negative binomial regression analyses models. The empirical results show that, for exploitation alliances, integrated innovation enterprise's equity-based exploitation alliances with components developers have more advantages than non-equity-based exploitation alliances; for exploration alliances, non-equity governance structures are better than equity governance structures. Meanwhile, the greater difficulties in external complement technology development will strength the advantage of equity-based exploitation and non-equity-based exploration alliances between integrated innovation firms and components developers.
