Since the 1990 s,the issue of Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR)in our country attracted widespread attention and has become an important issue of Sustainable Development and construction of Harmonious Society.In recent years,food safety incidents have repeatedly happened,causing a great blow on the industry image to the industry.They should actively fulfill CSR to regain the trust of consumers.In the background of China’s economic transition period,the impact of external institutional environment for enterprise behaviors should’t be ignored.As one of the factors that influence corporate behavior,it’s important to study the role of political connections to CSR and corporate performance.Using 447 valid sample data of the listed companies of food and beverage industry,the artic le studies the relations of political connections,CSR and corporate performance with the method of multiple regressions to provide suggestions for the promotion of companies to actively fulfill CSR and establish a good image.The article is divided into six chapters.Chapter 1 describes the significance,the purpose and methods,the research ideas and content arrangement.Chapter 2 cards and comments the existing literature on the evolvement of domestic and foreign concept of CSR and the relations of political connections,CSR and corporate performance.Chapter 3 analyzes the relations of political connections,CSR and corporate performance based on the economic transition period and puts forward the hypotheses.Applying the related knowledge and theory of Management and Statistics,Chapter 4 mainly uses data to do the empirical test.The results show that: in the food and beverage industry,the political connections can effectively improve CSR and corporate performance,and the higher the degree of political connections,the more significant of its role in promoting the CSR and corporate performance.CSR has a positive impact on corporate performance,namely the fulfillment of CSR will promote the corporate performance.Chapter 5 describes the results of the research based on empirical conclusions and puts forward that the enterprises should make rational use of political connections to fulfill CSR actively;the government can appropriate guide enterprises to fulfill CSR through political connections;other stakeholders in the enjoyment of interests should encourage enterprises to build political connections reasonably.The last chapter proposes the possible limitations in the the research process.
