Performance measurement is a system to objectively evaluate the business performance and management efficiency by mathematics and statistics. Performance measurement also uses a group of KPIs and compares the result with target and standard to evaluate the performance. Along with the large scope of the enterprises, the investors and managements have to deliver the strategy goal to everyone of the enterprise by an integrity system of performance measurement. Investors and managements also get the overall picture of the business and forecast for future years through this system. After the balanced scorecard was created as a performance measurement framework in 1992, it was welcomed around the world and introduced to China. Unfortunately, the implementation of the balanced scorecard in Chinese corporations is not as good as expected. It requires us to think the reasons.The paper begins from reviewing the history, theory structure and development status of the balanced scorecard. It focuses on analysis of Company A by evaluate its performance after implementation of the balanced scorecard. It finds out the problems and misunderstanding in the execution and tries to provide the suggestion accordingly.The purpose of this paper is to provide early warning to the Chinese corporations who want to carry out the balanced scorecard to improve their management level and competitiveness to achieve the strategy goal. The paper hopes to remind these corporations to pay close attention to the factors and problems, which may lead the projects fail.The feature and innovation of this paper is to track and analysis the balance scorecard implementation in Company A and find out the problem this system faces in Chinese economic environment. It accumulates the experience for the other Chinese corporations and increases the success possibility.
