Inventory is considered as an important circulating assets of enterprises. The existence of inventory will definitely occupy the enterprise a lot of floating capital. Hence, the efficient inventory management and optimized utilization will be directly related to the enterprise occupancy level of the fund and efficiency of capital assets. On the other hand, the inventory is also an important component of logistics, the potentiality of cost reduction is bigger than any other marketing segment, so it is known as "the third profit source". Facing of the constantly changing and unforeseeable buyer's market, enterprises are eager to seek a low cost operating way to meet the customer!s increasing requests effectively. Under this circumstance, improving inventory management will assist enterprise with a better profit capability, and it is always a good topic to study.Standing on the view of traditional inventory management model and modern supply chain inventory management model, this thesis starts from the theory, provides overview to the research achievements of scholars in China and abroad for inventory management, elaborates the relevant concept and theory, and completes the knowledge reservation.Drawing on the author's practical experience for many years, the thesis takes KUE(China), a newly medium sized company who step into Chinese market newly as the object of study. Following the idea of "To find problem, analyze problem and solve problem#, author made adequate spot investigation to understand and grasp the real status quo on inventory management. The thesis tries to analyze the existing problem and reason hiding behind, and propose the improving measures in the end. Inventory related managing functions re-defined by corporate organization adjustment, effective inventory management implemented by workflow improvement covering inventory purchasing, storage, warehouse-in/out, disposal, accounting and production process control. Meanwhile, a scientific inventory managing method, ABC classification, is introduced to explicit the focus. At last, the thesis presents the importance of expanding the application of information management system.
