The Performance Analysis Of Chinese Banks On The Background Of Diversified Operation

As early as the 1970's,with the development of financial liberalization and financial innovation, some commercial banks in western countries have shown some comprehensive and integrated features. Through diversified management,the bank's operational risk has been controlled,and the scope of business has been expanded. Besides,it also intensified the competition among the financial industries,so that the challenge in which commercial banks are facing with other financial institutions continues increasing,therefore,commercial banks have to engage in more extensive business activities to maintain its competitiveness. Nowadays,our country continues to implement the policy of reforming and opening up,and the economy has been rapid developed,while the capital market has already been activated,thus it has speeded up the flow of funds,and promoted the development of Chinese financial industries. However,in the background of economic globalization and technological progress,we must keep pace with the development of the age,learning advanced theories and experiences which came from western countries and exploring the new models of diversified management to improve the management performance of Chinese commercial banks.Firstly,this research has discussed the relative concepts,theories and methods between diversified management and bank performance. Then,through researching the development process of Chinese banks,business models,sphere of business and historical experience of domestic financial institutions,this thesis summarizes the necessity of diversifying management in the bank. Meanwhile,this research analyzed the changes about the financial indicators of Chinese bank industries by the means of factor analysis and found the relationships between the changes of the indicators and the performance. In addition,in order to identify the relationship between the degree of diversification and the performance about the bank,this research also used the method of regression analysis. Finally, according to the results of empirical research,some conclusions are drawn and some suggestions are put forward.
