Study Of Development Of Specialized Farmers Cooperatives In Yangcheng County

As a new-type management system, Specialized Farmers Cooperatives are able to adapt to the needs of modern market economy and resolve conflicts between farmers and markets, through organizing farmers to enter the market collectively. Recently, with strong support and guidance of national policies and the county government, Specialized Farmers Cooperatives in Yangcheng County have gradually developed, which promote local economy and increase farmers’ income. Their number is increased, the area is broadened, the technology is enhanced, and social services are improved. Every cooperative has been combining with each other, and seeking common development. However, there still exist some factors restricting the development.With Specialized Farmers Cooperatives in Yangcheng County as research objects, the article discussed their current development through their business models, construction of model cooperatives and social services, using methods of literature research and field survey by interviewing and investigating in the county. The study finds that some constraints, such as small scale, lack of professional talents and brand development, financing difficulties, and poor management, exist in the development of Specialized Farmers Cooperatives in Yangcheng County. The article applies the theory of institutional change, human capital, benefit distribution and organizational management, and put forwards new ways of promoting cooperatives’ development, including developing cooperative associations, training management, financial, technical and other professionals, broadening the financing channels, establishing the sound constitution, and enhancing the brand culture.
